Amazon Plans Fulfillment Facility in N. Las Vegas
Amazon.com, Inc. plans to open its fourth Nevada facility supporting customer fulfillment, creating more than 1,000 full-time jobs. The more than 800,000-square-foot fulfillment center in North Las Vegas will be developed by VanTrust Real Estate, LLC and is expected to open late next year.
The facility is part of a more than one-million-square-foot industrial complex under construction near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Interstate 15. VanTrust acquired the 73-acre site in November for $16.5 million.
Amazon’s Sanjay Shah says, “We’re excited to open a new, state-of-the-art fulfillment center in North Las Vegas, and to continue innovating in a state committed to providing great opportunities for jobs and customer experience.”
Amazon currently employs more than 3,000 at its three existing Nevada facilities in North Las Vegas and Reno. Employees at the new facility will pick, pack and ship small items to customers such as books, household items and toys.
