Amazon Plans Another Illinois Fulfillment Center

Amazon.com has plans to open an 850,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Monee, IL. Monee is a village in Will County, approximately 30 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The center will be the third Amazon site in the state of Illinois.

“We place our fulfillment centers close to customers to provide the fastest possible delivery times, and the growth in Illinois is directly tied to our increasing customer demand,” said Akash Chauhan, vice president of Amazon’s North America Operations.

Earlier this summer, Amazon announced plans to open two such centers in Edwardsville, IL in the Saint Louis metro area. The company already has an existing fulfillment center in Joliet, IL.
