Amarillo Ford Dealership Undergoing $8M Renovation

Renovation has commenced on Gene Messer Ford, a dealership at 3400 S. Soncy Rd. in Amarillo, TX.  The upgrades on the 35,052-square-foot facility are designed to improve customer convenience. The renovation is expected to be completed in January.

Gene Messer Ford is part of Group 1 Automotive, which owns and operates 162 dealerships and 212 franchises in the United States, United Kingdom, and Brazil. The portfolio consists of 112 Ford dealerships. Matthew Miera, Messer Ford’s general manager, said the Amarillo location is the last of the group to undergo an upgrade.

“The building is about 16 years old,” he said. “That’s when Mr. Messer brought the business over from South Georgia Street. There were things that were needing updates. We were starting to spend a bit of money on monthly maintenance.”
