Alex Stupak’s Empellón Eatery Coming to Waterline Square

GID Development Group has signed Mexican-inspired restaurant group Empellón, founded by chef Alex Stupak, to its three-tower Waterline Square on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Scheduled to open in late 2019, the new Empellón will span a total of 4,917 square feet of interior and exterior space.

“We are creating an entire neighborhood at Waterline Square, and having amazing culinary options is an important component of that,” said GID president James Linsley. “Empellón joining us as a premier restaurant partner further cements the dynamic, well-rounded lifestyle experience that Waterline Square will provide, and signifies the important evolution of this waterfront neighborhood.”

Located within Three Waterline Square, Empellón will front the project’s nearly three-acre park. Located directly across the park will be a 28,000-square-foot Cipriani culinary experience, its first.

The new Empellón will join additional locations in the East and West Villages, Murray Hill and Midtown. NKF’s Mitch Friedel represented GID.
