AIG Shifts Headquarters to Midtown Manhattan

AIG is moving uptown, relocating its global headquarters to the Rockefeller Group’s 1271 Ave. of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, where it will occupy eight floors and 325,000 square feet.

Long headquartered in Lower Manhattan, the financial services firm will maintain a presence there, consolidating its remaining New York City-area footprint into approximately 450,000 square feet divided between two new locations at 28 Liberty St. in the Financial District and 30 Hudson St. in Jersey City. AIG plans to move into the three new offices in 2021.

“Our new Midtown headquarters building is in close proximity to many of our clients, distribution partners and other stakeholders,” said Brian Duperreault, AIG’s CEO. “We take pride in our role as a responsible corporate citizen and remain committed to doing our part to help strengthen our New York City and Jersey City communities.”

The company didn’t identify any brokerages involved in lease negotiations.
