Affordable Senior Complex Planned for Hewitt

DMA Housing received the tax credits necessary to begin construction on Reserve at Dry Creek, an 88-unit, $13-million, independent living complex for senior citizens aged 62 and older. Austin-based DMA, in partnership with Blazer Building of Houston, could begin construction on the project at 701 N. Old Temple Rd. in Hewitt, TX in the first two weeks of July 2017.

The complex, just south of Waco, TX, will be geared toward seniors on fixed incomes, and will offer one- and two-bedroom units. Also offered will be cottages with lawns. Potential tenants at Reserve at Dry Creek will need to meet state guidelines, which will include those who can’t afford full-service senior facilities. The property, however, won’t be Section 8 housing.
