430-Acre Golf Resort Acquired for $30M, Development Planned

Gold Canyon MJ LLC, an entity associated with Marvin and Marge Klinker, acquired the Gold Canyon Golf Resort and Spa in Gold Canyon from a Canadian consortium, GCG Holdings LLC, for $29.43 million. The Montana buyer plans to continue operating the golf courses and develop some of the developable land on the 430-acre property about 40 miles east of downtown Phoenix.

The resort includes two championship golf courses, Sidewinder and Dinosaur Mountain, a hotel and spa with 97 casitas, as well as conference and wedding facilities. The golf resort is located at 6100 S. Kings Ranch Rd. There’s also 67 acres of developable land in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains.

The initial phase of development includes a condominium project anticipated to begin construction next year. Additional parcels are zoned for residential, commercial and hotel uses.

West USA Realty’s Walter Unger brokered the deal.
