272 Luxury Apartments Open in Long Island City

Brause Realty and Gotham Organization opened 272 apartments in The Forge, a new 38-story tower in Long Island City in Queens.

The companies worked diligently to fit their development into the neighborhood. The double-height lobby is decorated with art by local artists, including a giant rooster inspired by a mural that once stood on the site of the tower at 44-28 Purves St.

“Over the years, Long Island City has transformed from a historically industrial neighborhood into a cultural enclave filled with galleries, museums and artisanal restaurants,” said David Brause, president of Brause.

Rents start at $2,485 for studios at the tower.
