2,200-Acre Master Planned Community on Tap in Central Texas

Commissioners in Travis County approved development plans that will bring more than 3,300 houses and apartments to western Travis County and parts of eastern Burnet County. Dubbed Thomas Ranch, the 2,200-acre master-planned community will be northwest of Austin. The project is backed by Blakefield LLC, which is based in Wilmette, IL.

The project is anticipated to take 20 years to build out, and will be constructed in three phases, Texas Town, Hilltop and Cliffside. Specific site-plan details are not yet in place, though the development plan could also include retail, entertainment venues, a resort hotel and spa.
