1,365-Acre North Apple Valley Annexation Approved
The Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) for San Bernardino County approved a proposal by the Town of Apple Valley to annex roughly 1,365 acres in north Apple Valley, CA. The approved area of annexation sits within the 2,775 acres formerly known as the “Golden Triangle” in Victor Valley.
Apple Valley Mayor Larry Cusack says, “The annexation adds three miles of prime freeway frontage to the town’s boundaries. The annexation area is a logical extension of the town’s continued growth.”
The town first attempted to annex the Golden Triangle in 2009, but was unsuccessful. The latest annexation effort narrowed the area by carving out existing residences, which helped secure widespread support.
The revised annexation area is entirely vacant. The High Desert area is bounded by Interstate 15 to the west, Johnson Road to the south, Morro Road to the north, and Fairfield Road to the east.
