$62M Med Science Building Planned for Texas Tech

Sundt Construction, headquartered in Phoenix, will soon begin construction on the 277,000-square-foot Medical Science Building II on the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso campus. The project will include the building itself at Alameda and Concepcion, along with utility infrastructure, an increase in parking spaces and landscape improvements.

Once completed, the building – almost the twin of Medical Science Building I – will have research laboratories, lecture halls, classrooms, administrative offices and campus support space.

“The new facility will support Texas Tech University’s Health Sciences Center, El Paso’s expanding research program, the existing Medical and Nursing Schools, as well as its new Dental School program,” said Sundt Project Director Joe Riccillo. “This project is just one example of the university’s commitment to addressing the growing health needs of the border area through academic and research programs.”
