$500M MXU Planned in Ohio’s Scioto Peninsula

The Columbus (OH) Downtown Development Corp. unveiled plans for a $500 million mixed-use development that would create residences, restaurants and offices in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus. At this point, a master developer is being sought to bring the estimated 3.1-million-square-foot project on the Scioto Peninsula from the drawing board to development, to completion.

“We’ve been discussing this as a community for literally over a hundred years,” CDDC CEO Guy Worley told Columbus Business First. He added that the development would be the largest in the city’s history, and the site is “the best piece of ground in our city.”

The CDDC is expecting the project to yield as many as 1,800 residential units, up to 840,000 square feet of office space, 180,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment and 240 hotel rooms.
