$32M Bond Proposals on Tap in San Marcos
San Marcos, TX voters will have the opportunity to vote on two bond propositions on the May ballot totaling $32.2 million. If passed, the bonds would help address public safety facilities, and an expansion at the San Marcos Public Library.
Though there are concerns that the bond could potentially be placed aside a district bond, San Marcos’ city council voted to do so. The first proposition, totaling $17.5 million, would address fire and police department facilities, including improvements to the city’s 911 center, and would fund a new fire department.
The second proposition, at $14.8 million, would pay for a 29,000-square-foot expansion of the San Marcos Public Library.
