$300M MXU Development Planned Near USC, Expo Park

Irvine, CA-based Ventus Group revealed plans for the $300-million The Fig, a 4.4-acre mixed-use development south of DTLA on Figueroa and 39th streets across from the Coliseum. The seven-story project will feature more than 400 residential units for 931 student housing, market-rate, and affordable residents.

The project will also include more than 74,000 square feet of commercial space, including creative office, and numerous destination retail and outdoor dining establishments, and a 298-room dual-branded hotel. The Fig will anchor the southern gateway to the USC campus.

Ventus’ John David Booty says, “The Fig will serve as a multigenerational staple in the overall fabric of the USC/Exposition Park submarket of LA by creating more housing and providing neighborhood-serving hospitality, office and retail destinations.”

Bergstrom Capital Advisors, Inc.’s Eric Bergstrom was selected as the exclusive real estate capital market advisor for Ventus Group in its search for joint venture equity partners.
