$139M Hilton Tri-Branded Hotel Development Begins
Work has begun on Hilton Worldwide’s first tri-branded hotel development adjacent to Chicago’s McCormick Place, south of the Loop. The combo hotels, totaling 466 rooms, are being built by Rosemont, IL-based First Hospitality Group (FHG) and James McHugh Construction, and will consist of Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn and Home2-brands.
The $139-million, 22-story project will share some communal areas and amenities, such as a swimming pool and business office. All three hotels will have their own distinct lobbies and dining areas. FHG will own and manage the triple-branded hotel, as well as the onsite Starbucks.
The project is part of a broader development dubbed McCormick Square, which includes the 1,205-key Marquis, as well as Wintrust Arena, a 10,000-seat event center that is home to DePaul University’s basketball teams.
