Matan Cos. Breaks Ground on 556K-SF Industrial Park in Maryland

Washington D.C.-based commercial real estate and development firm Matan Cos. has broken ground on the first three buildings of Center 85, a four-building Class A research and industrial development on Executive Way in Frederick, MD. When completed, the park will total 556,800 square feet.

Located on 44 acres, the industrial park will feature 30-foot clear ceiling heights, 40-foot by 40-foot column spacing, a 120-foot truck court and two dock doors per bay with drive-in capability. The site provides one parking space for every 1,000 square feet leased. Building 1 will total 116,000 square feet while building 2 will total 64,000 square feet. The first two buildings are slated to be delivered simultaneously in July 2021. Building 3 will total 276,000 square feet.

“Despite the challenges the current environment presents, the demand for quality industrial and R&D space in the area, and particularly Frederick, remains steady and encouraging,” said Brad Benna of the Matan Cos. “We approach the project with optimism and enthusiasm and are grateful for the collaborative environment that the county staff and leadership have cultivated. Welcoming new businesses and watching others grow here is what makes Frederick so attractive and is the key to long term sustainability of the community.”
