Locally based Satya has broken ground on a dual-branded Hyatt hotel property in Texas Medical Center. The 159-key Hyatt Place and 139-key Hyatt House will be Hyatt’s first project within TMC, as well as the first dual-branded lodging property housed in one contiguous building in Houston.
The 350,000-square-foot, 14-story project at 7329 Fannin St. is located in a Qualified Opportunity Zone. It will include a 24-hour dining area, a full-service restaurant and lobby cafe; two onsite bars and a parking garage.
A seventh-floor amenity deck will offer 3,500 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a laundry room.
In addition to Satya, the project team includes architect G2, project consultants HarDam Hotels and The Mathis Group, contractor E.E. Reed Construction and IBC Bank, which provided construction financing. A 2022 opening is expected.
