Construction Launches on Texas Tech Vet School
Ground has officially broken on the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine Amarillo Campus in Amarillo, TX. The 185,000-square-foot, two story facility is being built to address the need for large-animal and rural veterinarians.
The building, located north of Texas Tech’s Amarillo campus on Coulter Street, is expected to open by the fall 2021 school year. Initial enrollment is expected to be 60, with the program also designed to support graduate students involved with advanced research.
The academic building will consist of two wings. The east wing will encompass three large classrooms, breakout rooms and office suites, along with leadership and faculty offices, graduate study and work rooms. The west wing will offer lab and research spaces, as well as locker rooms, surgery suites, small animal housing and anatomy and pathology instruction rooms.
