Stream Realty Partners and partner QuadReal Property Group broke ground on RiverSouth, a 350,611-square-foot commercial building, south of downtown Austin. The 15-story building is going north on 1.4 acres at 425 W. Riverside Dr., which was the site of a former Hooters restaurant.
The project is anticipated to be completed by 2021, and will offer approximately 330,000 square feet of office space and 18,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. RiverSouth represents the first major development south of Lady Bird Lake, since Austin’s South Central Waterfront plan was passed. The plans cover development of 118 acres on the south shore of the lake.
No office, retail or restaurant tenants have been announced, though Stream Realty indicated it is talking to potential tenants.
