178-Acre Eastern Hills Gets Second Life as Special Needs Development

My Possibilities, a non-profit organization in Plano, TX, acquired 178 acres in Garland, TX. The land, which was the former site of Eastern Hills Country Club, will be developed into a special needs inclusive community. Upon completion, the as-yet unnamed project will be one of the only neighborhoods in the United States designed for both the general public and families with special needs.

“My Possibilities has created a revolutionary approach to overall community-building, and to caring for underserved individuals and families who have historically lacked quality and safe places to live,” said CBRE’s Marty Neilon. Neilon partnered with colleague Seth Kelly to represent the buyer of the property at 3000 S. Country Club Rd. “This area of Garland will now see some of the first new homes delivered in decades,” he added.

The country club closed in 2013 and was shuttered in early 2014, when the owners filed for bankruptcy.
