French auto parts company move into 340K SF manufacturing building in Manor

Tesla Supplier Chooses Manor for 350K SF Plant, 800 Hires

Plastic Omnium, a French electrical vehicle supplier, will open a 350,000 square-foot manufacturing facility just outside Austin, in Manor. The company plans to populate the plant with 800 workers. The Austin Business Journal reports the company specializes in making high-end bumpers.

The company has leased the sizable building 4 at the Northeast Crossing property. Plastic Omnium is interested in the site due to the availability and timing of the building, along with its location, which puts it in close proximity to customers. The building is a 15-mile drive from the Tesla gigafactory in eastern Travis County. The company plans to ideally begin operations in either August or September.

Other Tesla suppliers that have known to set up shop in the area include automotive body manufacturer Simwon North America Corp. in Kyle, CelLink Corp. in Georgetown and Plastikon Industries Inc. in Kyle.
