6 Flags, Schlitterbahn join up to form $8B company

Six Flags, Schlitterbahn Join Forces

They are both Texas entertainment options that parents and children have had to choose from. Now, Six Flags and Schlitterbahn have united to form a massive entertainment empire. Season pass holders will receive expanded park access, and the combined loyalty program will be enhanced with additional perks. The combined value will exceed $8 billion.

The combined company will continue to operate under the Six Flags name but use Cedar Fair’s “FUN” ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange.

Six Flags owns Six Flags Over Texas amusement park and Hurricane Harbor water park in Dallas-Fort Worth. It also has Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio and Hurricane Harbor Splashtown in the Houston area. Meanwhile Cedar Fair owns Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort New Braunfels and Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston, having bought them for $260 million in 2019.
