Related’s Lockhart Cold Storage Facility Nears Completion

Related is close to delivery on a 310,000-square-foot, $65 million cold storage facility in Lockhart. The project is going in at the Lone Star Logistics Center north of State Highway 130 and Farm to Market Road 2001.

The project is made up of a dozen purpose-fit buildings spread across 173 acres. Davis Bass and Brooks Benkendorfer from HPI Real Estate Services & Investments are handling the leasing for the center.

The RealCold building is on track for delivery within the first quarter of next year. The Austin Business Journal reports that a company spokesman says it likely will take about two years to fill the entire building, after which the company is aiming to expand it by another 147,000 square feet.

RealCold and Related Fund Management received incentives for the project. The Caldwell County Commissioners Court agreed to provide the company with an annual grant equal to a percentage of the county property taxes paid.
