Primestor Delivers Freedom Plaza at Watts’ Jordan Downs MXU
Primestor Development Inc. completed Freedom Plaza, a brand-new neighborhood center that serves as the retail element of the Jordan Downs mixed-use development incorporated into the 700-unit public housing apartment complex in Watts. Designed by Los Angeles-based Nadel Architecture + Planning, Freedom Plaza is the centerpiece of the 105-acre, high-density community that was recently transformed into a sustainable mixed-use master-planned village.
Primestor’s Arturo Sneider says, “Nadel worked hand-in-hand with us on this project, enabling us to deliver a safe and family-friendly destination with plenty of areas for guests to gather as they shop, dine, and enjoy the open public spaces.”
Freedom Plaza features 114,431 square feet of retail space, as well as landscaped promenades and community gathering spaces. The project at 9901 S. Alameda St. is near the historic Watts Towers Art Center.
