Oxford Completes Office-to-Lab Conversion Under Heavy Demand
Real estate investor and developer, Oxford Properties Group, has completed the speculative conversion of the 136,000-square-foot Boren Lofts office building into Boren Labs, a fully dedicated life sciences facility in Downtown Seattle.
Demand for such buildings remains intense, and during the conversion process, seven of the nine floors were leased. The Boren Labs building also features ground level retail and a newly built amenity floor with a shared rooftop deck and conferencing center. The conversion added 15-foot floor-to-floor heights, upgraded MEP systems and a more open feel to promote employee wellness and performance.
“Boren Labs provides a solution to Seattle’s unique market challenges where early stage companies are all too often unable to find the smaller, flexible footprints they require. By investing in the build-out of spec lab suites, we are enabling these companies to find the space required, while saving on time and capital,” said Oxford’s Director of West Coast Life Sciences, Abby Mondani.
