Chicago Will Launch Mass Vaccination Sites on South, North Sides

The City of Chicago will open two new mass vaccination sites on April 5, joining a site that began operating earlier this month at the United Center on the city’s Near West Side. The new sites will be located at Chicago State University in the South Side’s Roseland neighborhood and the American Airlines Conference Center at Gallagher Way next to Wrigley Field.

The Chicago State vaccination site will be overseen by the Chicago Department of Public Health, while the Gallagher Way site will be overseen by Advocate Aurora Health. Both are by appointment only. Between them, the two sites will be able to process about 4,200 vaccinations per day.

“We are making progress toward our goal of vaccinating all Chicagoans,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot. “While the list of those eligible for the vaccine expands, vaccine supply and appointments are still limited and patience will be key.”
