2020 Next Generation Honoree: BMO Harris Bank’s Kelsey O’Connor is a Resource for Colleagues, Clients

An assistant VP with BMO Harris Bank, Kelsey O’Connor has made tremendous gains in her real estate knowledge and experience since she started at the bank out of college five years ago. She is highly self-motivated and a top-tier employee to work with from the client’s perspective and her colleagues. She is a team player and is seen as a great resource for industry, credit and client knowledge across CRE and BMO.

As O’Connor has been able to handle more than 75 transactions in the past year alone, she has been able to come up with creative solutions for clients and for BMO, including the bank’s ability to advance on a unique form of CLO collateral for a top-tier client. Colleagues say O’Connor continues to grow and advance every year. Her high capabilities continue to be pushed as transactions become more difficult in the marketplace, giving her more experience and better knowledge as a junior relationship manager.

These are just a few reasons we chose O’Connor as one of the Chicago 2020 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

O’Connor now runs the women’s group for the commercial bank at BMO Harris. She was one of five commercial banking employees to spearhead and transform the internship experience for FY 2019.
