Spaces Takes Full Floor at Brooklyn’s Pioneer Building
Workspace provider Spaces has leased the entire 26,908-square-foot second floor at 41 Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn, also known as the Pioneer Building. The property’s current ownership, Quinlan Development Group and Building and Land Technology, put $50 million into renovations of the historic property after purchasing it in 2015.
The 15-year lease represents the first Brooklyn location for the rapidly expanding Spaces brand. The tenant is also creating a street-level presence at the Pioneer Building through a separate ground-floor lease of 3,808 square feet.
A Cushman & Wakefield team, including global brokerage chairman Bruce Mosler, Joseph Cirone, Patrick Dugan and Ron Lo Russo, represented ownership in the transaction. Spaces was represented by Scott Sloves and Mark Ravesloot from CBRE.
