Partnership Tops Out on Boutique Co-op Project

CBSK Ironstate, a longstanding partnership of CB Developers, SK Development and Ironstate, recently topped out construction at 1228 Madison Ave., a boutique-scale luxury residential co-op building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. At just 250 feet in height, 1228 Madison is Robert A.M. Stern Architects’ (RAMSA) smallest multifamily residential building in Manhattan to date.

“We have designed a building with a personality all its own, but one that grows out of the traditions of the Upper East Side and the eclectic architectural spirit of Carnegie Hill,” said Paul L. Whalen, a partner at RAMSA. The project’s interiors have been designed by Kelly Behun Studio.

The project incorporates 14 full-floor residences and a duplex penthouse. There will also be ground-floor retail.

The development team expects to launch sales this fall, with two-to-four bedroom apartments priced from $7,950,000, and the three-bedroom duplex penthouse with multiple terraces priced at $17,500,000.
