Nonprofit Selfhelp Consolidates into Sheepshead Bay Offices

Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) represented Selfhelp Community Services in its 14,889-square-foot lease at 626 Sheepshead Bay Rd. in Brooklyn. The nonprofit will consolidate two facilities into the new Sheepshead Bay location, which will house two programs offering services to Holocaust survivors and the elderly.

TRS’ Stephen Powers, Lindsay Ornstein and Jake Cinti represented Selfhelp. The property’s ownership, Cammeby’s International, was represented by David Ofman of The Lawrence Group.

“Selfhelp provides services to some of New York City’s most vulnerable residents,” said Powers, who leads Transwestern’s national Nonprofit Advisory Services group. “The Transwestern team conducted a lengthy site search, including significant location analytics, to ensure that we found Selfhelp a location that is central to the population it serves through the Holocaust Survivor Program. The new office will enable Selfhelp to sustainably offer its critical services where they are most needed.”
