Beam Suntory Will Shift Global HQ to Manhattan from Chicago

(Updated with additional information)

Beam Suntory said Tuesday it would establish its global headquarters in New York City in mid-2022, relocating from Chicago. The Suntory Brands subsidiary will move most executive leadership positions, brand-related jobs and select global corporate function roles to 99,566 square feet at SL Green Realty Corp.’s 11 Madison Ave.

“As one of the world’s greatest global cities, New York will provide a unique environment to help us accelerate our premiumization strategy and growth plans,” said Beam Suntory CEO Albert Baladi. “We see excellent opportunities to immerse our company and global brand-building efforts more deeply in New York’s vibrant restaurant, bar and consumer environment.”

CBRE’s David Kleinhandler, James Whalen, Maura Flanagan and Joe Cybulski represented the tenant. Newmark’s Brian Waterman, Scott Klau, Erik Harris and Brent Ozarowski represented SL Green.

Beam Suntory’s North American operations will be based at Vornado Realty Trust’s theMART in Chicago, which remains its largest office.
