Women in Real Estate 2020: Kidder Mathews’ Rachael Thompson Has Created a Name for Herself

Kidder Mathews’ Rachael Thompson serves as a Vice President in Phoenix, specializing in healthcare real estate services in greater Phoenix. She could arguably be the best-kept secret in the industry for the past 18 years, after a humble beginning as a receptionist at Insignia ESG.

Her desire and drive to succeed in the commercial real estate industry helped her career advancement. In 2014 Thompson earned the role as a senior leasing associate at Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. where she solely represented a 1.2-million-square-foot medical office portfolio in Arizona.

She was recruited to join Kidder Mathews. And today, as one of a handful of women in commercial real estate in metro phoenix, Thompson has clearly found her niche working with the top healthcare building owners. This list includes Anchor Health Properties, Healthcare Realty Trust, Lilibridge, MB Real Estate, Nationwide Realty Investors, Welltower, Whiteboard Development Company and Woodside Health.

Along the way, she’s created a name for herself as a top producing healthcare leasing broker and participated in transactions totaling more than $85 million in value and 697,000 square feet in 2019. She boasts the highest market share, at 1.5 million square feet, and represents 24% of the premiere medical and healthcare buildings in metro Phoenix.

Thompson played a pivotal role in bringing national first-class tenants to the heart of Goodyear this year. Her most recent success includes representing a building owner in the purchase, redevelopment, and leasing of a 20,000-square-foot building in Goodyear, a process that spanned fourteen months from purchase to full lease-up.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Thompson as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners in Phoenix. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
