Jodie Poirier became the first woman to oversee operations across Greater Los Angeles for Colliers International in June 2020. Poirier rejoined the country’s third-largest commercial real estate services firm as Executive Managing Director and one of two market leaders in Greater Los Angeles.
Among her shared duties, Poirier has responsibility for overall business operations, talent recruitment and retention and client care for Colliers in Greater Los Angeles and oversees the Agency Leasing and Occupier Services teams across the region.
In her earlier stint at Colliers from 2011 to 2014, she served as a Director within its U.S. Brokerage Services group, where she led various strategic and business development initiatives for the national office and industrial service lines as well as other national practice groups.
Poirier’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is evidenced by a dedication to bringing that perspective to the Community Resource Exchange (CRE) community. As a woman in an industry that is historically male-dominated, Poirier stands as an ally to powerful women in the workforce. She plans to use her leadership role at a major brokerage firm to recruit new talent and place a major focus on diversity in terms of both gender and race.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Poirier as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners in California. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
Poirier supports community organizations such as Junior Achievement Southern California, where she served as a board member of the non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. She also volunteered with Heal the Bay a non-profit that aids in protecting California’s coastline, revitalizing urban waterways, and speaks out for smart water use. Additionally, she has spearheaded the setup of a scholarship with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to help make tennis more financially accessible to children in need.
