2020 Next Generation Honoree: Native Realty’s Jaime Sturgis Shines Bright as Visionary CRE Leader
At only 31 years old, Native Realty’s Jaime Sturgis is already redefining what it means to be a commercial real estate broker in South Florida. Sturgis has worked to transform South Florida’s previously overlooked urban neighborhoods as well as assumed pivotal leadership roles in the industry and community.
As the Native Realty’s leader, Sturgis is responsible for setting the firm’s ethical standards and providing an example for his brokers and staff to follow. He wears many hats, including but not limited to broker, developer, contractor, sales director, property manager and community advocate.
Sturgis is the primary producer at the firm, which recently had a dramatic year-over-year increase in total revenue. Native’s revenue surged from $5.8 million in 2017 to $28.9 million in 2018 to $47.11 million in 2019. In 2020, Native is on track to surpass the 2019 output as well.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Sturgis to be one of the Atlanta and Southeast region 2020 Next Generation Award Winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
Sturgis is perhaps best known for his role in curating Fort Lauderdale’s trendy Flagler Village neighborhood. Several years ago, Sturgis saw strips of outdated and vacant commercial warehouses and envisioned a bustling area with creative offices, restaurants/bars, art galleries, apartments and performing arts spaces. He has successfully conveyed that vision to many entrepreneurs, business owners and landlords, completing more than 750,000 square feet in transactions in Flagler Village over the past three years.
