2020 Next Generation Honoree: Tricera Capital’s Ben Mandell Recognized for Success and Community Work
At just 32 years old, Tricera Capital co-founder and managing principal Ben Mandell is already a prominent figure in South Florida’s real estate industry. Mandell and Scott Sherman launched Miami-based Tricera three years ago after each had successful tenures with institutional real estate companies. Since launching, Tricera has quickly amassed a substantial portfolio of retail and mixed-use investments in emerging urban markets throughout the Southeastern U.S.
In just three years, Tricera has successfully launched and recruited a team of experienced leasing experts, analysts and associates as well as secured a contract for the ground-floor retail space at downtown Miami development, X Miami, just three months after launching and later leasing up 100% of that space in April of 2017.
Additionally, Tricera acquired the popular Hive and Flagler Uptown mixed-use buildings in Fort Lauderdale’s trendy Flagler Village. Since acquisition, Tricera has successfully filled vacancies with local and regional operators that fit the vibe of the artistic neighborhood at rents above underwriting and secured long-term deals with key tenants.
Mandell and Tricera also spearheaded the construction of an adaptive re-use project at the Palm Beach Post campus in West Palm Beach. The redevelopment was conceived with a vision to reinvigorate the Dixie Highway corridor and bring much-needed retail, offices, entertainment and public art to the city.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Mandell to be one of the Florida 2020 Next Generation Award Winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
