Lawyers in Real Estate 2020: Kramer Levin’s Nathalia Bernardo
In addition to being partner at Kramer Levin RE in New York, Nathalia Bernardo is active in a number of leadership roles outside of the scope of her daily law practice.
Bernardo is an active member of the New York chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) where she has served as both Vice Chair of the organization’s membership committee and a member of the Legacy Leaders Committee. More recently, Bernardo was chosen to serve as the Vice Chair of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) New York Mentor Program where she helped create unique one-on-one pairings of mentors and mentees, in addition to supporting the mentoring program throughout the upcoming year.
Beyond the work that she does for professional organizations, Bernardo also applies her leadership abilities to her two teaching positions. She is an adjunct professor of law at Cornell University Law School and an adjunct assistant professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation. At both institutions, she teaches a course on transactional real estate documents, guiding students through the structure of typical commercial real estate deals and helping them to understand how various legal documents govern these transactions.
It’s for these reasons that we named Nathalia Bernardo to our inaugural grouping of Lawyers in Real Estate. These are real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in both their practice and the larger community.
