
Damon Juha joined Freeman, Freeman & Smiley in 2007 and serves as the Co-Chair of the firm’s real estate department. With a focus on commercial leasing and acquisitions/dispositions, Juha reportedly has established himself as a uniquely talented go-to counsel for clients that need to get deals done throughout the U.S.
Juha has facilitated some of the most significant leases for his clients (including recent deals for 1,000,000 square feet, 784,000 square feet, 722,500 square feet, 550,000 square feet and 480,000 square feet in various markets, totaling more than $4.4 billion in consideration), as well as complicated acquisitions/dispositions (including recent deals for $195 million, $118 million, $95 million and $89 million). Given his expertise in multiple asset types (office, industrial and retail), Juha has also been involved in the nationwide roll outs of clients’ retail locations.
Based in Los Angeles, Juha has demonstrated the ability to develop a huge portfolio of new clients on his own. He represents landlords and tenants and buyers and sellers equally. Colleagues, opposing counsel and clients appreciate Juha’s collegiality and ability to cut to the chase, as evidenced by his AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review and multiple years of inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. Juha leads by example; sets a tone of working hard, being practical and keeping the business drivers for a deal constantly in mind, a skill not frequently taught in law school.
Juha has remained active in Urban Land Institute and City of Hope, in addition to being actively involved in his temple and children’s schools.
