WeWork Grows Chicago Footprint by Nearly 200K SF

WeWork said Thursday it’s adding its 10th and 11th Chicago locations, totaling nearly 200,000 square feet. The co-working brand is slated to occupy 53,000 square feet at 1 S. Dearborn this September, and 140,000 square feet at the under-development 167 N. Green St. (pictured) in 2021.

Developed by Shapack Partners and Focus Development, 167 N. Green will feature building amenities that include dog-friendly offices and an outdoor penthouse rooftop and indoor lounge, on top of WeWork’s own suite of member amenities.

“With the addition of these two new locations, WeWork members have greater access to a campus-like ecosystem linking together innovative workspaces that allow them to cut their commute or meet a client in the area most convenient to them,” said Megan Dodds, WeWork’s Midwest general manager.

The two new locations will add to the 930,000 square feet WeWork already occupies in River North, the Loop and Fulton Market.
