Swenson Reveals Downtown San Jose Urban Campus Vision

Swenson unveiled its vision for the development of The District, a 30-acre urban campus near downtown San Jose’s Diridon Station. The concept details how the right heights and densities could be achieved through a public-private partnership with the City of San Jose and the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy.

Swenson’s Case Swenson says, “We believe San Jose deserves a world-class parkside activation strategy integrated with shopping, hotel accommodations, residential buildings, and office space.”

The commercial real estate developer hopes the study will lead to conversations with the community about how best to revitalize the Diridon Station area.

The District (named for study purposes) is envisioned as a vibrant urban retail and activities destination on the steps of a future BART Station. People would stroll along meandering bridges, learn at the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy Wildlife Center, eat in one of 50 new restaurants, cafes and bars, or relax on a lawn.
